While we strive to make life better for children in the future, our focus is on the
needs of children today. If we can open doors, provide opportunities and furnish
items that make life for a struggling child just a little bit easier, then we have met out
goal and accomplished our mission.
Tent 34 sponsors many special programs and services that help enrich the lives of
children age 18 and under in Houston and its surrounding area. Fundraising efforts
throughout the year help generate the money needed to support the activities and
services we provide to such agencies as Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Houston,
Candlelighters, Avondale House, Hope Shelter, Aldine Y.O.U.T.H., Star of Hope
Children’s Shelter, Holy Family Boys and Girls Club and the Neonatal Rehabilitation
Program at Ben Taub and Lyndon B. Johnson Hospitals, among many others.
Services to these organizations include furnishing school supplies, organizing trips to
area attractions, providing myoelectric limbs to children needing legs or arms, supplying
funds for emergency food and shelter, assistance for medical related expenses not covered
by insurance, supplying specially designed toys and feeding equipment for the premature
babies and providing transportation in the form of our Variety Club Sunshine Coaches.
